Our DKU group was very lucky because we got to interview someone who had lived in India. This is what she said.
There is no social security in India. there is lot's of poor people but just as many wealthy. The poor people don't try to become wealthy because they beleive that in their next life they will be wealthy. Clothing compared to Australia is very different.
Most hinduism marriages can go on for days. Sally went to a wedding and she got gifts and money from the couple. There was about 1000 people there. It started at 9:00 PM but the ceremony didn't actually start till 3 AM.
It is very Humid in India. In March and April it would be about 40-45 degrees celcius. It would poor down rain in the afternoon but it would still be very humid. When night comes it gets very cold.
Everyone in India plays Cricket. It is the most popular sport in all of India. There aren't much other games in India except for the basic games like cards and knuckles.
Most of India are vegietarians because in India cows and meat are sacred. India serves lot's of curries but forget what you've heard about all the really spicy curries because they aren't as spicy as you would have thought. Wealthy people don't go near supermarkets. They would just get their maids to go down and get what they want. Most farmers harvest grains, corn and rice. India also make chutneys.
Only the wealthy people have got good education
The most popular religions are ( in no perticular order) Hinduism, Buddhism, Muslim and Christian.
A very famous place in India is the Tajmahul. It took 25 years to make. Apparently it was made for a mans wife for her birthday but she had died by the time it was made!!
